Everton midfielder Gareth Barry is reportedly closing in on a move to West Bromwich Albion in order to gain more first-team football.

Everton midfielder Gareth Barry is reportedly on the verge of joining West Bromwich Albion.

The 36-year-old, who has been part of the Merseyside club since 2014, is believed to be keen to move for first-team football.

The former England international started 23 Premier League games last season, and was voted Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season at Everton.

However, the new arrivals of Davy Klaassen and the expectant signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson means that Barry's game time is likely to be limited this season.

According to The Mirror, the former Manchester City player has opted to join the Baggies and could finalise the transfer today.

Barry has made 628 appearances in the Premier League, which is four shy of Ryan Giggs's record.
