Andrea Mandorlini is sacked by Serie A strugglers Hellas Verona to bring an end to his five-year spell at the club.

Hellas Verona have confirmed that Andrea Mandorlini has been dismissed from his role as manager of the club.

The Italian had been in charge of the Gialloblu for five years, and oversaw back-to-back promotions from the third tier to Serie A.

During their first two seasons back in the top flight they achieved respectable mid-table finishes, but they have failed to win a single game this term and are eight points from safety at the foot of the table.

Mandorlini's final game as Verona manager was against Frosinone at the weekend, when his team suffered a 3-2 defeat.

Verona, who are yet to announce a new manager, will face Pavia in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday evening, before returning to Serie A action with a home game against Empoli at the weekend.
