Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Aston Villa

Sports Mole rounds up all of Tottenham Hotspur's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League showdown with Aston Villa.

Tottenham Hotspur must quickly move on from their catastrophic Europa League exit as they prepare to travel to the West Midlands to take on Aston Villa this Sunday in the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho's side were expected to cruise into the quarter-finals of Europe's secondary competition in midweek, but a heroic hat-trick from Dinamo Zagreb's Mislav Orsic dumped Spurs out of the tournament on Thursday evening.

Spurs' European exit came only a few days after their disheartening North London derby defeat to Arsenal in the league, and Mourinho's side currently occupy eighth spot in the table - six points adrift of the Champions League places.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their meeting with Villa.

Son Heung-min

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: March 21 (vs. Aston Villa)

Tottenham lost star attacker Son Heung-min to a thigh problem in the first half against Arsenal last weekend, and while his injury is not as serious as first feared, it would still be a surprise to see him line up at Villa Park.

Return date: April 4 (vs. Newcastle United)

Erik Lamela produced an outrageous Rabona before being sent off for two bookable offences in the defeat at the Emirates Stadium, and he will serve a one-match suspension this weekend.
