Lucas Moura insists that Tottenham Hotspur can end their trophy drought under the management of Jose Mourinho.

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Lucas Moura is confident that the London club will end their long wait for a major trophy under the management of Jose Mourinho.

Spurs have become regulars in the Champions League in recent seasons in addition to establishing themselves as one of the best teams in the Premier League.

The capital giants have not won a trophy since lifting the League Cup in 2008, though, and missed the opportunity to land last season's European Cup after losing to Liverpool in the final.

Lucas, however, has revealed that confidence is high in the camp as Mourinho has convinced the players that they are "winners".

"Now it's a big opportunity for us to learn with the new manager and we have everything we need – a very good coach who has a lot of experience and a lot to bring for us," The Mirror quotes Lucas as saying ahead of Sunday's trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

"I really believe we can win a trophy now. Each coach has a different mentality, he always talks to us, he tries to put in our mentality that we are strong, that we are a big club, that we are winners."

Lucas was on the scoresheet in Sunday's 2-1 win over Wolves, which moved Tottenham to within three points of fourth-placed Chelsea in the table ahead of next weekend's clash between the two teams.
