Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is hopeful that the team can end their "frustrating" Champions League campaign by qualifying for the Europa League.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has called on the team to end their "frustrating" Champions League campaign by grabbing a spot in the Europa League.

Mauricio Pochettino's men were eliminated from the elite tournament a fortnight ago when they suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Monaco.

Spurs have claimed just one win in their five group games, and are yet to pick up a point in fixtures played at Wembley, but they welcome CSKA to London this evening in the hope of avoiding defeat, which will secure a Europa spot.

"It's been a frustrating campaign in the Champions League, but we know we need to go out and win on Wednesday night," Kane told the club's official website.

"We have to finish the group with a bit of pride, qualify for the Europa League and then try to win it because that's what football is all about, winning trophies.

"We also want to give the supporters something to cheer about. They've been incredible in our last two matches at Wembley, setting attendance records both times but we've not been able to repay that by giving them something to celebrate. That hurts us as players, so it's important we send them home happy with a victory this time."

As for Tottenham's Premier League form, the North London outfit are currently fifth in the table, seven points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
