How Real Madrid could line up against Leganes

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in Wednesday's La Liga clash with Leganes.

Real Madrid will be looking to return to winning ways in La Liga when they host Leganes on Wednesday night.

Zinedine Zidane's side recorded an impressive 1-0 victory away to Galatasaray in the Champions League last week but suffered a 1-0 loss at Mallorca in their last league fixture.

The postponement of El Clasico means that Madrid have had a free weekend ahead of this game, which has allowed Zidane an opportunity to recover some key players.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Los Blancos could line up on home soil.

POSS RMA XI vs. LEG

Out: Marco Asensio (knee), Nacho (knee), Alvaro Odriozola (suspension)
Doubtful: Gareth Bale (calf), Luka Modric (thigh), Lucas Vazquez (calf)

Madrid will again be without the services of Marco Asensio and Nacho due to long-term knee injuries, while Alvaro Odriozola is suspended following his red card against Mallorca last weekend.

All three of the above are certain to miss out, but Zidane could have Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez available for selection for the clash at the Bernabeu.

Indeed, Modric was involved with the main training group on Sunday, and the experienced midfielder could feature for the first time since picking up a thigh problem on international duty earlier this month.

Bale continued his work inside the gym on Sunday, but the Wales international is said to be in with a chance of featuring against Leganes, potentially off the bench.

The team is expected to have a similar look to the one that started against Galatasaray in the Champions League, with perhaps the only alteration seeing Modric coming in for Federico Valverde. That said, Ferland Mendy is battling to be involved at left-back ahead of the experienced Marcelo.

Eden Hazard is almost certain to start alongside Karim Benzema in attack, but the spot on the right is open with Rodrygo Goes, James Rodriguez, Isco and Vinicius Junior all battling for a start.
