Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas have come out in support of Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane following the club's 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Frenchman returned to the Bernabeu towards the end of last season after Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari both oversaw a miserable run of results for the La Liga side.

While Los Blancos are second in La Liga, last week's galling loss at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain raised questions over the side's distinct lack of footballing identity under Zidane.

Speaking to Movistar La Liga soon after the game, Ramos said: "We are with Zidane, despite previous results.

"To talk about other coaches is to lack respect for ours. We have to keep our feet on the ground because we know the season is long."

Taking to Twitter, Casillas also made his feelings on the matter known, declaring: "Zidane is the best. Some will discuss whether he is lucky [but] there won't be talk of a change on the bench.

"Nor that the club mismanaged by putting faith in a veteran group that could be satiated by success. Nor about the youngsters who are the immediate future. Tomorrow, not a peep."

Real responded to widespread pressure during the week with a narrow 1-0 win over Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on Sunday.
