Former Real Madrid forward Predrag Mijatovic says that Gareth Bale 'has not delivered as he should' for Los Blancos.

Former Real Madrid forward Predrag Mijatovic has claimed that Gareth Bale 'has not delivered as he should' since arriving at the Bernabeu in the summer of 2013.

Bale has scored 101 goals in 222 appearances for his Spanish club, helping them win one La Liga, one Copa del Rey and four Champions League crowns.

The 29-year-old has managed a respectable 13 goals in 33 appearances this season, but he has struggled for starts in recent months and was booed off the field by his own fans against Barcelona on Saturday night.

Madrid have reportedly lost patience with the Wales international and will place him on the transfer list this summer.

Mijatovic has now had his say on the struggling attacker, claiming that he is still unsure of his best position.

"I want to ask a question, can anyone explain what position is ideal for Bale after five years? It's that when you put him on the left, the kid doesn't produce or suffer. On the right too. As second striker too," Mijatovic told Cadena SER.

"Five years and, I'm not able to explain myself, in what position you should put him so that he delivers as he should."

Bale has not completed the full 90 minutes of a league game for Los Blancos since the end of November.
