Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale has said that he feels "more comfortable" at the club now following a difficult second season.

Bale was heavily criticised for his performances at times last term, resulting in numerous reports linking him with a move back to the Premier League last summer.

However, he has already surpassed last season's league goal tally with 15 in just 18 games, and will register his most prolific La Liga campaign for Los Blancos should he score in Saturday's El Clasico.

"I feel more comfortable here now. I speak some Spanish. I think I have to keep working hard and improving, giving my all and helping the team," he told reporters.

"Everyone knows I like to play in the middle and then move about, but if I start from out right I can play more economically and support my teammates better."

Bale also insisted that his side are still in the La Liga title race despite trailing in-form Barcelona by 10 points.
