Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Real Madrid

Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's La Liga clash with Real Madrid.

Barcelona will welcome Real Madrid to Camp Nou on Saturday for the first Clasico of the season.

The Catalan giants suffered a 1-0 defeat to Getafe in La Liga last weekend but returned to winning ways in the Champions League on Tuesday night, recording a thumping 5-1 victory over Ferencvaros.

Ronald Koeman's side are currently ninth in La Liga with seven points to show from their four matches, while Real Madrid occupy third with 10 points from their five fixtures.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barca's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Zinedine Zidane's team, which is shaping up to be a fascinating affair early in the campaign.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is yet to feature for Barca this season after undergoing a knee operation in August. The Germany international is expected to be back in training before the end of the month, although it is unclear when the club's number one goalkeeper might be available to make a first-team return.

Samuel Umtiti

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: October 24 (vs. Real Madrid)

Samuel Umtiti, who was strongly linked with a move away from Camp Nou over the summer, is yet to feature this season due to ongoing knee problems. In theory, he could be available for this weekend's contest, although it would be a surprise to see the France international in the squad due to his issues.

Jordi Alba

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: October 24 (vs. Real Madrid)

Jordi Alba has been on the sidelines since tearing his hamstring in the 1-1 draw with Sevilla before the international break. There have been suggestions that the defender could return to the starting XI for this match, though, which could be a huge boost for Koeman's team.
