A lawyer representing former FIFA president Sepp Blatter has responded to allegations that his client awarded himself around £16m in bonuses.
FIFA has accused Blatter and former officials Jerome Valcke and Markus Kattner of giving themselves additional payments totalling £55m.
It has been alleged that Blatter, who stepped down as FIFA president last year amid an investigation into widespread corruption, took home bonuses of £7.7m and £8.4m for overseeing the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
In response to the claims, Blatter's American lawyer Richard Cullen released a statement, which read: "We look forward to showing FIFA that Mr Blatter's compensation payments were proper, fair and in line with the heads of major professional sports leagues around the world."
The 80-year-old was succeeded as FIFA president by Gianni Infantino in February.
