Manchester United are reportedly preparing themselves for a fresh approach from Real Madrid for goalkeeper David de Gea.

Real Madrid have reportedly identified Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea as their first-choice target to replace Keylor Navas.

De Gea has long been linked with a transfer to the Bernabeu having previously represented city rivals Atletico Madrid but more recently, it has been claimed that Real were looking at bids for Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois and Roma's Alisson.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Real are planning to make another move for De Gea during the summer transfer window.

De Gea effectively has two years remaining on his contract - with United having the option to enforce a one-year extension in 2019 - but the Premier League giants may look to offer the Spain international improved terms in a bid to fend off any fresh interest.

The 27-year-old has spent the last seven years in the North-West of England, making a total of 315 appearances in all competitions.
