Italian giants Roma reportedly identify Manchester United winger Memphis Depay as their top transfer target for January.

Manchester United winger Memphis Depay has emerged as a top target for Roma during the January transfer window.

The Dutch international has failed to make any impact at Old Trafford since making the £25m switch to the club in 2015 and he has barely featured under Jose Mourinho.

The 22-year-old is expected to leave the Premier League side at the start of next year and according to The Sun, Roma plan to make a move for the player, who has made 27 starts and 25 substitute appearances for the North-West outfit.

The Italian side will be weakened in January when Mohamed Salah leaves for the African Cup of Nations, leaving Depay as a potential replacement for the Egyptian until his return in February.

It has been claimed that United would be open to either a loan or permanent deal.
