Argentine defender Marcos Rojo claims that he is in the plans of Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Marcos Rojo has claimed that Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has offered him assurances over his future at Old Trafford.

Rojo only made six appearances for United during the 2018-19 campaign and has not been a regular for the club since the 2016-17 season, when he impressed under Jose Mourinho.

United had reportedly placed a £6m transfer value on the Argentina international amid interest from Spain and Italy.

However, Rojo, who can play left-back or centre-back, has now claimed that Solskjaer wants to keep him at Old Trafford this summer.

"[Solskjaer] said that I was in his plans, that I'm an important player and that he wanted me to return to full fitness, to be able to count on me in the first team," Rojo told El Dia.

The 29-year-old has made 113 appearances for the 20-time English champions since a 2014 move from Sporting Lisbon, winning one FA Cup, one EFL Cup and the Community Shield during his time in Manchester.
