Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to launch a bid for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea as the French giants look to replace Gianluigi Buffon.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to press ahead with their attempt to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.

Alphonse Areola and Gianluigi Buffon have been rotated between the sticks this season, but it was revealed earlier this week that the latter was leaving Parc des Princes.

That development leaves PSG needing to bring in a replacement, and The Times claims that a formal approach will be made for De Gea.

PSG must find a way to comply with FFP regulations - with the club's activity in the transfer market having been monitored by UEFA in recent years - although it appears that the French giants have settled on trying to secure the services of the Spaniard.

De Gea has just one year remaining on his contract, leaving United in a position where they may be forced to cash in on the 28-year-old.
