Mesut Ozil will reportedly commit his future to Arsenal by signing a new deal after this summer's World Cup.

Mesut Ozil is reportedly poised to sign a new long-term deal at Arsenal but will wait until after the World Cup before putting pen to paper.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at the Emirates at the end of the current campaign and talk of his future has dominated the first half of the season, with the Gunners' rivals Manchester United said to have been keen on poaching him.

Arsene Wenger's side are believed to have offered the German significantly improved terms on his existing £140,000-a-week deal, but he has thus far refused to sign as his representatives have attempted to find more lucrative alternatives.

According to German daily Bild, Ozil has now finally decided that his future lies in North London and will agree to a new contract worth around £300,000 a week when he returns from the World Cup in Russia in July.

The newspaper says that the club's imminent capture of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, plus the arrival of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United, were instrumental developments in convincing Ozil to stay.

Ozil has turned out more than 180 times for the Gunners during his four-and-a-half years with the club to date.
