A report claims that Manchester United could make a fresh approach for Real Madrid's Gareth Bale should a no-deal Brexit occur.

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to go back in for Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale should a no-deal Brexit occur.

The 29-year-old has been unable to shake off rumours of a return to English football in recent seasons, having failed to truly win over the Madrid fanbase.

Bale boasts four Champions League titles, two UEFA Super Cups, three FIFA Club World Cups, one Copa del Rey and one La Liga title during his five-and-a-half years at the Bernabeu.

Despite this, though, a Premier League return has been touted, with Man United widely considered the favourites to land the Wales international.

The Sun reports that the Red Devils will decide whether to make a fresh approach for Bale in the coming weeks when it becomes clear whether the UK will get a deal with the EU before leaving.

Should that fail to be the case, the ex-Tottenham Hotspur forward's hand would be forced as he would likely have to leave the Spanish capital.

Bale became the world's most expensive player in 2013 when joining Madrid from Tottenham for a fee of £85m.
