Romelu Lukaku has revealed that he is looking forward to working under Jose Mourinho once again as the Belgian international closes on a move to Manchester United.

On Saturday morning, Man United revealed that they had reached an agreement with Everton for the transfer of the 24-year-old, who is understood to have undergone a medical in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon.

It was now Red Devils boss Mourinho that sold Lukaku to Everton from Chelsea in 2014, and the former Anderlecht youngster has hinted that he has unfinished business with the Portuguese.

"[Mourinho is] a guy who I wanted to play for since I was 10 years old, so now to have the opportunity to work under him again is great," Lukaku told ESPN. "We've been in contact. He explained to me how the club was like, what he expects from me.

"You know, we were together under different circumstances. Obviously, the first time when I met him, I was still a young kid, and I was eager to play. And he understood my decision why I left at the time. I returned on the pitch.

"Now I'm 24. I'm a grown man. He sees the maturity that has grown throughout the years, so I'm really thankful for the opportunity he gave me again."

Lukaku, who moved to Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2011, has also said that he 'did not have to think twice' about joining Man United ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
