Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Crystal Palace

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League showdown with Crystal Palace on Thursday.

Manchester United will be looking to boost their hopes of a top-four finish when they travel to South London to take on an out-of-sorts Crystal Palace side on Thursday evening.

The Red Devils recently received a huge blow in their pursuit of a Champions League spot, as Southampton salvaged a point in the dying minutes of Monday's game at Old Trafford courtesy of a Michael Obafemi equaliser six minutes into added time.

The result means that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men remain fifth in the Premier League table, only behind Leicester City on goal difference, although their current standing will no longer be good enough for a place among the European elite following the news that Manchester City's appeal against their two-year ban from European football was successful.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their trip to Selhurst Park.

Mason Greenwood

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: July 16 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Mason Greenwood was the victim of a crunching Oriol Romeu tackle early on in United's draw with Southampton. The teenager powered through and lasted 84 minutes of Monday's clash, but Solskjaer has revealed that Greenwood did not come away unscathed and is a doubt for Thursday.

Luke Shaw

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: July 16 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Luke Shaw suffered a twisted ankle in the four-goal stalemate with Southampton. Solskjaer has confirmed that Shaw will be given time to recover but the United manager does not know whether the Englishman will make the cut for Thursday.

Brandon Williams

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Facial
Possible return date: July 16 (vs. Palace)

Shaw's replacement Brandon Williams was forced to leave the field covered in blood following a nasty-looking collision with Kyle Walker-Peters. Solskjaer will be desperate to have at least one recognised left-back fit in time for the midweek game, but Williams is nonetheless a doubt for the showdown with Palace.

Axel Tuanzebe

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: Unknown

Solskjaer has conceded that long-term absentee Axel Tuanzebe is not likely to be available until September, meaning he will miss the remainder of the campaign.

Phil Jones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: Unknown

Phil Jones has not featured for United since their FA Cup victory over Tranmere Rovers in January. Solskjaer has confirmed that the defender is a few weeks away from a training return, but Jones is unlikely to be back in time for United's Europa League fixtures in August.

MAN UTD'S SUSPENSION LIST

United have no suspension concerns for the clash with Palace.
