Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho receives an apology for Dejan Stefanovic's claim that he should be jailed for his treatment of Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has received an apology after a world players' union member called for him to be jailed for his treatment of Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Slovenian Dejan Stefanovic had told BBC Sport that Mourinho was "bullying" the German midfielder, who has been told to find another club.

The League Managers' Association said that the comments were "totally inappropriate", adding that Stefanovic "has apologised to Mr Mourinho".

Schweinsteiger, 32, signed a three-year deal in 2015 and played 31 games last season but has trained alone or with the Under-21s since the former Chelsea boss took over.
