Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea has said that he feels 'honoured and privileged' to be at Manchester United.

The 27-year-old has again been in outstanding form for the Red Devils this season - keeping 21 clean sheets in his 43 appearances in all competitions.

De Gea's current deal at Old Trafford will expire at the end of next season, although United do have the option to extend it for one further year.

Securing the Spaniard's future is seen as a priority for the 20-time English champions, and De Gea has once again revealed his admiration for the club that he joined in July 2011.

"It's a way of life, being part of a club like Manchester United and being part of its history. It's a privilege pulling that shirt on," De Gea told Sky Sports News.

"You are part of a club where so many legends and so many historic figures have passed through this stadium over the years. It's something you enjoy all the time, every time you pull on the shirt it is an absolute pleasure, honour and privilege."

De Gea was named United's Player of the Year for a record fourth time on Tuesday night.
