Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville laid into Arsenal during Sunday's EFL Cup final between the Gunners and Manchester City.

City claimed the League Cup with a 3-0 success at Wembley - Sergio Aguero opening the scoring in the 18th minute before Vincent Kompany and David Silva netted in the second period.

Neville blasted Arsenal for their mentality during the 90 minutes of football, claiming that they deserved to be beaten due to their "spineless" performance against Pep Guardiola's side.

"I'm coming for Arsenal because they're a disgrace," Neville told Sky Sports News. "[Look at Aaron] Ramsey jogging back, absolute disgrace they are, giving up. Spineless. Look at that [child crying] They're just walking around the football pitch.

"I've not liked their defending for a long time, their character or spirit, but I used to like the football. I don't even like their football anymore, they're not even a team who play good football anymore. Liverpool, Tottenham [Hotspur] and City all play better football.

"Chelsea and United and stronger both physically and mentally. It's not easy to win a cup final this easily, but that's what they're about to do. Arsenal have been absolutely pathetic."

The future of head coach Arsene Wenger is once again expected to be called into question following the three-goal defeat in the English capital.
