Chris Smalling hails Manchester United teammates

Chris Smalling takes to Twitter to congratulate his Manchester United teammates following the team's progression in the Europa League.

Chris Smalling has paid tribute to his Manchester United teammates after the Red Devils booked their spot in the last-32 stage of the Europa League with a 2-0 win over Zorya Luhansk.

Jose Mourinho's side needed only one point to be sure of a spot in the next round, but goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic secured all three in Odessa.

Smalling, who is currently nursing a broken toe, took to Twitter shortly after the Zorya match to congratulate his teammates on securing progression.

Smalling is also expected to sit out Sunday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur as he struggles to overcome the problem that he picked up last month.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho watches on from the stands ahead of his side's Premier League clash with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on November 6, 2016
