Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that his side want to go all the way and win the Europa League this season.

The competition has often been criticised as a distraction to domestic form in recent years, with the Thursday night matches making for a difficult turnaround to the weekend.

However, Mourinho stressed the importance of completing the job during tomorrow's final group game against Zorya Luhansk, with the Red Devils needing just a point to guarantee qualification for the last 32.

"The first game was difficult for us, but was also very difficult for Zorya, and I think tomorrow is more of the same. Difficult for us and also difficult for them. We know that it is a crucial match for us," he told reporters.

"If we lose the match we can be out, and we don't want to be out. We want to got and win the competition. Zorya are out, but they have a match to play and I believe that they are going to try to win the match as well. We assumed from the beginning that this is an important competition for us.

"It is difficult because we play Thursday and then Sunday. We are never given a Monday match to have one more day to rest and prepare. It is difficult to play together. But we want to try to win it and while we are in the competition will try to win it. We want to go as far as possible, step by step. The first step is to qualify from a very difficult group."

The Europa League/UEFA Cup is the only major competition that Manchester United have never won.
