Aberdeen take Manchester City goalkeeper Nicholas Pistol on trial.

Aberdeen have taken Manchester City youngster Nicholas Pistol on trial.

The goalkeeper played in the Dons' Under-20s friendly match against Forres Mechanics and could be signed as cover for the injured Robbie Mutch.

It is believed that Pistol would be part of the club's youth squad if he completes the signing, with a role opening up in the first-team squad next season after the end of the loan of Liverpool's Danny Ward.

Pistol came through the youth academy at City.
