Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for their Premier League clash with Newcastle United on Saturday.

Liverpool's lengthy injury list has welcomed yet another defender before their Premier League battle with Newcastle United at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime.

With Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk already out of action, Jurgen Klopp lost Nat Phillips to a minor hamstring problem before the draw at Leeds United, and the centre-back will not be cleared to play this week.

As a result, Fabinho could once again deputise in the heart of defence alongside Ozan Kabak, which would allow Thiago to enjoy another start in the engine room alongside James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Trent Alexander-Arnold appears to have rediscovered his golden touch with one goal and two assists in his last three Premier League matches, and he will once again line up at Anfield with a point to prove to England boss Gareth Southgate.

The midfield three should remain unchanged as Jordan Henderson and Curtis Jones battle their way back from injuries, although the latter should be cleared to play this week, but Mohamed Salah will certainly earn a recall to the attacking trident after being benched at Elland Road.

Sadio Mane scored the opener in that game so is unlikely to lose his place, so one of Roberto Firmino or Diogo Jota is expected to drop out for the returning Salah, and the Portuguese attacker may be the unlucky one to make way.

Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Kabak, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Thiago, Milner; Salah, Firmino, Mane
