Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho backs imminent new signing Sadio Mane to enjoy his time at Anfield.

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has welcomed the arrival of new signing Sadio Mane before the club have officially announced the news.

Mane is believed to be on the verge of completing a £34m move to Anfield from Southampton.

The 24-year-old Senegal international was pictured on Monday wearing Liverpool's No.29 after reportedly undergoing a medical at the Merseyside outfit.

When asked about the impending arrival, Sakho told RTS 1: "We met two or three times on the pitch and in the tunnel.

"It's already been four years that I've been at this fantastic club and he will discover that by himself."

Mane scored 21 Premier League goals in the last two seasons for Southampton.
