Jordan Henderson insists that Liverpool players are not concerned by Manchester City's rampant response to defeat to Norwich City.

Jordan Henderson has insisted that Liverpool players were unconcerned with Manchester City's remarkable goalscoring form in response to defeat at the hands of Norwich City.

Following a shock 3-2 defeat at Carrow Road, which left City five points behind Liverpool in the table, the Premier League champions have responded in rampant style.

A convincing 3-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in Kharkiv was followed by a stunning 8-0 victory over Watford at the Etihad, with City scoring five times inside the opening 18 minutes.

When asked about whether City's rampant goalscoring display bothered him, Henderson told Sky Sports News: "No, for us, it's about what we need to do, all our focus is on ourselves, we can't worry about anyone else, our focus is on our next opponent, not any other team.

"The next game will always be the biggest game, we'll not worry about any other team. I'm sure the neutrals will look at other results and obviously it was a good performance by City.

"But, for us, it's about performing well and picking up points, as many as we can and see where we are at the end of the season."

City and Liverpool fought until the final day for the Premier League title last season, with City finishing one point ahead of the latter on 98 points.

The two sides, having played each other in the Community Shield in August, do battle once again at Anfield on November 10.
