Jamie Carragher jokes that Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin admitted that he dived to win a penalty against Liverpool.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has joked that Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin admitted that he dived during Sunday's Merseyside derby.

The Reds dominated the majority of the clash at Anfield and were rewarded in the 42nd minute when Mohamed Salah curled the ball into the top corner.

Jurgen Klopp's men failed to make the most of their chances, though, and Everton ended up sealing a 1-1 draw thanks to a penalty converted by Wayne Rooney.

The Liverpool boss was convinced that the spot kick should not have been given, but Dejan Lovren was seen with his hands on Calvert-Lewin before the Everton forward hit the deck.

After the match, Carragher bumped into the 20-year-old, and the Sky Sports pundit joked that the youngster came clean about diving.

The retired centre-back tweeted: "I've changed my mind! Just bumped into @CalvertLewin14 even he said he dived!!!!!!"

Carragher swiftly added: "He didn't to be fair as I didn't give him a chance to speak after telling him & Tom Davies they were jammy B******s!!!!!"

Liverpool currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, while their Merseyside rivals reside in 10th place.
