Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva insists that he is "ready" to play a full 90 minutes having missed the start of the season with a hamstring injury.

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has declared himself "ready" to play a full 90 minutes for the club following a recent injury problem.

The 29-year-old missed the start of the campaign with a hamstring problem, but was named amongst the subs for last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Brazilian didn't make it on the field on that occasion, but he insists that he is now fully fit and ready to return to the team.

"If I had had to start the game, Spurs would probably be too early because I played 45 minutes for the Under-23s the day before, but if I'd have had to come on I would have been fine. I would say I'm now ready to play 90 minutes," he told the club's official website.

Lucas could make his first appearance of the campaign against Leicester City after the international break.
