Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson admits that the Reds "never do it the easy way" when it comes to seeing out games, despite beating Roma to reach the Champions League final.

Jordan Henderson has acknowledged that Liverpool "never do it the easy way" when it comes to sealing results but is delighted to have led the Reds into the Champions League final.

Liverpool boasted a 5-2 lead going into Wednesday's second leg away at Roma but were made to sweat late on, conceding twice in the last 10 minutes for an eventual 7-6 aggregate win.

Although Henderson was "delighted" to have booked a spot in the final against Real Madrid, the club captain admitted that Liverpool must "stop" conceding goals in the latter stages of games.

"We never do it the easy way unfortunately," Henderson told BT Sport at full time.

"It was an amazing effort. In the first half we did well and scored some good goals. Overall we handled the situation well apart from the last 10 minutes. We need to stop that but I'm delighted we're in the final.

"We knew it was important to score and get one early on. We were unlucky with their first goal but overall we have to be happy with what we have done over the two legs. We could have done better in this game but we've made it through to the final.

"We have another important game on the weekend against Chelsea and then we have Real Madrid in the final. We will go there with confidence."

The Champions League final takes place in Kiev on May 26.
