Agent expects Toure brothers to stay at World Cup

The agent of Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure believes that he and brother Kolo will remain at the World Cup despite their younger brother's death.

Yaya Toure's agent has said that he expects the African Footballer of the Year and his brother Kolo Toure to remain at the World Cup despite the death of their younger brother.

The Ivory Coast Football Association announced that 28-year-old Ibrahim Toure, who played as a striker for Lebanon club Al-Safa until earlier this year, passed away in Manchester yesterday.

Dimitri Seluk told BBC Sport: "Normally they would want to go to Manchester straight away. But I think they will stay to play Greece on Tuesday. Ibrahim was a big fan of the team and they want to play together for him and their country.

"It is a very tough situation. They must make a decision. Of course they are very upset, but it is also the national team and the World Cup and they know that, without them, it makes a big difference.

"If they leave Brazil now, it will be very bad for Ivory Coast because the next game could put them through or knock them out."

It has been reported that Toure's death comes following a short battle with cancer.
