Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Italy could line up for Tuesday's Euro 2020 semi-final clash with Spain.

An inspired Italy squad return to Wembley on Tuesday, where they will take on old rivals Spain for a place in next weekend's Euro 2020 final.

Ahead of a high-stakes 90 minutes - or more - the Azzurri have few major injury concerns, but Leonardo Spinazzola suffered a tournament-ending injury against Belgium and his absence will alter the plans of coach Roberto Mancini.

The Roma wide man will now undergo Achilles tendon surgery in Finland, with an expected recovery time of up to six months to follow, so Chelsea's forgotten man Emerson Palmieri will replace him - offering a more conventional interpretation of the left-back role.

On the other flank, Alessandro Florenzi - who has been on loan at PSG from Roma for the past year - has now fully recovered from a calf injury picked up earlier in the tournament and will hope to slot straight back into the defence. However, Giovanni Di Lorenzo has fared well in his absence and Atalanta's Rafael Toloi is also available as a more defensive-minded option.

Untouchable midfield duo Jorginho and Marco Verratti - who has belatedly returned from a knee injury to great effect - are again joined by Sardinian starlet Nicolo Barella, whose excellent goal and creative contributions in the quarter-final should see off competition from both Manuel Locatelli and Matteo Pessina.

Up front, meanwhile, Mancini is expected to keep faith with first-choice centre-forward Ciro Immobile, whose indifferent form at these Euros is unlikely to see him dropped in favour of his deputy, Torino striker Andrea Belotti.

On the right of the Italian attacking triumverate, the ever-direct Federico Chiesa came in for Domenico Berardi last time out, and the pacy Juventus winger is set to start once again.

Italy possible starting lineup: Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Emerson; Barella, Jorginho, Verratti; Chiesa, Immobile, Insigne
