Seven best Premier League markets to put your money on

Seven of the most profitable Premier League markets that you should put your money on.

The Premier League has always been known to throw up a few surprises over the years, and nothing will ever change in that department. You only need to go back to a few seasons ago when Leicester City defied their 5000/1 odds to become champions of England – odds that will likely never be available again. It is surprises like those that make the Premier League the best league in world football. Yet it is not just title winners that have been profitable down the years, and punters have made a lot of money from other offline and online Premier League betting with odds that are often eye-watering.

Here are seven of the most profitable markets that you should put your money on.

1. Most Assists

Some of the midfielders plying their trade in the Premier League today are among the best midfielders in the world. You only need to look at the likes of Paul Pogba, David Silva, Philippe Coutinho and co to see what wonderful players bless the league. This has opened numerous markets in the betting department and, although it is very difficult to choose which player will assist their goal-scoring teammates the most, it is still one to consider thanks to the great Premier League odds available. With so many excellent playmakers in the league, and striking partnerships that make others look silly, it is certainly a market worth a small stake every year.

2. Teams to Get Relegated

It is not all rosy for some teams in the Premier League, as some of them are faced with the dreaded drop where they will play teams like Bristol City instead of the likes of Manchester City. Although it is not good for those relegation battlers, it is still great from a punter's point of view because it makes things interesting and fun. Crystal Palace do not look that lively at the moment and they are already odds on to make the drop, but who is going to join them? You might not get great odds on just one team to end up playing Championship football next season, but you will definitely win a bit if you manage to predict all three early on in the season.

Realistically, Chelsea are not going to go down for the foreseeable future, but with odds of 1000/1 and more on the table, it is still attractive enough to have a small punt and hope for the best. Many punters would have put their last penny on Leicester not winning the title in 2016 – but they came away with the spoils in excellent fashion, which shows anything can happen. Will Crystal Palace be able to defy the odds and stay up under boring manager Roy Hodgson? Or will we see a surprise package end up in the Championship next year?

3. Top-four Finish

For those teams with little to no ambition in the Premier League, their best hope of a successful season is not dropping down to the Championship tier. However, for others, it is all about getting in that top four so they can play on the European stage against the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona the year after. A top-four finish for teams in the Premier League is instantly rewarded with millions because of TV rights and endorsements. So, a top-four finish definitely makes things interesting for players, teams, and punters. The top-four finish outright markets also provide numerous sub markets to choose from. For example, if you fancied Manchester United to win it, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham finishing respectively, you will be able to boost your odds and profit margins considerably. It is also possible to do the same with the relegation battlers.

4. To Avoid Relegation

As with the "who is getting relegated" outright markets, there is also the Premier League survival markets. As stated above, the Premier League has always been full of surprises over the years, and there is nothing stopping any team from going down if they fail to break the targeted 40-points barrier by the end of the season. Usually, it is the Premier League newcomers who have good odds on staying in the league, but with other Premier League sides only just scraping for survival last year, you can get good odds on pretty much any one of 10 teams. The "to avoid relegation" market is sure to provide a few upsets come May 2018.

5. Golden Boot Winner

The Golden Boot winner always makes things interesting – there are many top players in the league who could win it. While most strikers who play for the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea usually win it, there is nothing stopping other players like Wayne Rooney and Everton from coming home with the goods. Lukaku looks in excellent form, but the likes of Aguero and Gabriel Jesus are also firing on all cylinders.

At the end of the day, the top scorer of the Premier League isn't going to get there without a good team behind them – so it is anyone's to win if a team starts banging in goals out of nowhere. Realistically, strikers like Tammy Abraham (Swansea) are not going to have much chance against the likes of Aguero, but the odds are still there to take advantage of.

6. Top Midlands Team

There are many outright markets available when it comes to the end of the Premier League season. Even teams from the Midlands can get in the mix on becoming the top Midlands team in the Premier League. Leicester, West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City all do battle this year for the crown, but who is going to come away with the spoils? Stoke and Leicester have not been particularly pleasing at the start of this Premier League campaign, so it is West Bromwich who look like serious contenders under manager Tony Pulis. However, things can quickly change in the coming weeks and there is nothing stopping Leicester from turning their fortunes around.

7. Top Promoted Team

Three teams have left the Championship behind this year to join the elite in the Premier League. Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Huddersfield Town all do battle for the next seven months to see if they can stay in the league for a start, but also come away as the top promoted side from the Championship. All three sides look good to stay up this season, but neither team looks like they will be able to form a realistic chance of doing anything else. However, there is still plenty to play for in the top promoted team market, but who is going to have enough quality to win it? All three teams were expected to go back down before the start of the season, but they've all proved they have what it takes to beat some of the elites, and that makes this market even more interesting.

More and more markets are coming into play as far as Premier League outright betting is concerned. With more bookmakers establishing themselves, they are all looking to get ahead of the competition by offering markets that others do not. But, with the standard markets like the above in play, it gives punters a real chance to walk away with some serious money when the end of the season comes around. It is, of course, a long season and that means a long time waiting for profits, but that is why good odds are available to those that are patient.
