Sam Allardyce hails Everton's "hard-earned" goalless draw with Chelsea and declared himself satisfied with a point in Saturday's Premier League meeting at Goodison Park.

Sam Allardyce has praised Everton's "hard-earned" goalless draw with Chelsea and declared himself satisfied with a point.

The Toffees frustrated their opponents, who dominated Saturday's Premier League game at Goodison Park but were successfully kept at bay.

Phil Jagielka cleared off the line from Tiemoue Bakayoko and Willian in quick succession to frustrate the visitors en route to a share of the spoils.

"Hard-earned is certainly right," Allardyce told BBC Sport after the game.

"In terms of effort, commitment, organisation, we have played a hugely talented front five and have had a bit of luck but rolled up our sleeves to get a result. It keeps the undefeated run going, and you have to respect a point against the big boys.

"It is disappointing that we did not really threaten their goal apart from Michael Keane's header at the end. The quality of the ball was disappointing today, but the effort was top class and we are well satisfied with a point."

The ninth-placed Toffees have now not lost in six Premier League games, five of those since Allardyce took charge.
