Former England manager Sam Allardyce is reportedly outraged by comments made by agent Mel Stein.

Former England manager Sam Allardyce has reportedly been left outraged after football agent Mel Stein suggested that the coach was going to cause a problem for the Football Association.

Allardyce lost his job just 67 days after being appointed as Roy Hodgson's successor after getting caught up in a media sting by The Telegraph.

The 61-year-old was secretly filmed appearing to tell undercover reporters how to get around the FA's ban on third-party ownership.

Stein - founder of the Association of Football Agents - recently claimed that the English governing body should have asked him or his colleagues about Allardyce before hiring him.

"You know what, he's not Mother Teresa," Eurosport quotes Stein as saying. "I'm not saying he's guilty of anything, but clearly if you were looking for somebody who was going to not cause you any problem, probably Allardyce was not your man.

"He may well have been the best manager for the job, and that's a decision to make."

According to Sky Sports News, Allardyce is fuming over the remarks and plans to speak to his advisers regarding any possible action that he can take.

In 2006, the former Bolton Wanderers boss denied allegations that he received 'bungs'.
