Former New York City FC and Nice boss Patrick Vieira is to succeed Roy Hodgson as Crystal Palace's next manager, according to a report.

Patrick Vieira is reportedly in advanced talks with Crystal Palace over becoming the Premier League club's next manager.

The Eagles have been on the lookout for a new boss since Roy Hodgson stepped aside at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

Palace had reportedly prioritised appointing Lucien Favre, but they were unable to reach an agreement with the ex-Borussia Dortmund chief over the weekend.

According to The Athletic, the South London outfit are now close to confirming Vieira as Hodgson's successor.

Arsenal legend Vieira, who is currently in the UK working as a television pundit during Euro 2020, has previous experience of managing New York City FC and Ligue 1 side Nice.

It is claimed that Palace are confident of having the Frenchman in place ready for the start of pre-season training next Monday.
