The 73-year-old will leave the club at the end of the season after four seasons in charge.

Roy Hodgson will step down as Crystal Palace manager at the end of the season.

Here, the PA news agency takes a look at some of his best wins as Eagles boss since his appointment in September 2017.

2-1 (h) Chelsea, October 2017

A first-ever victory in charge of his boyhood club proved hugely memorable. After starting the season with seven successive defeats, Palace stunned champions Chelsea at a buoyant Selhurst Park. Cesar Azpilicueta's own goal in the 11th minute was Fulham's first goal of the top-flight term and Hodgson, in his fourth game in charge, saw an inspired display by Wilfried Zaha help earn a vital 2-1 win and kick-start their survival battle.

5-0 (h) Leicester, April 2018

Hodgson watched his team seal safety with a five-star display at home to Leicester, who had won the title two years earlier. First-half goals from Zaha and James McArthur put the hosts in control before late efforts by Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Patrick van Aanholt and Christian Benteke added gloss to the score and got the party started in south London. It remains one of the club's best attacking performances under the former England national team boss.

3-2 (a) Manchester City, December 2018

The Eagles produced a big shock and gave their supporters an early Christmas present when they claimed all three points at the Etihad. Pep Guardiola's side had only lost twice under the Spaniard in two-and-a-half years on home turf in the Premier League before they were edged out in a thriller. A sublime volley from Andros Townsend helped Palace claim a back-to-the-wall triumph despite only having 22 per cent possession.

2-1 (a) Manchester United, August 2019

A dramatic finale at Old Trafford saw Crystal Palace win at Manchester United for the first time since 1989. A dogged defensive showing after Jordan Ayew's opener appeared to have Hodgson's men on course for a historic win, but Daniel James' late equaliser looked to have spoiled their celebrations. Full-back Van Aanholt had other ideas, though, and he struck in the third minute of stoppage time to clinch a memorable success, especially for the travelling contingent.

2-1 (a) Brighton, February 2021

Following a poor run of results and with fans becoming disgruntled at a perceived negative style of football, Palace secured bragging rights over rivals Brighton to ensure Hodgson would win his final clash against the Seagulls. It was another smash-and-grab after the hosts dominated possession at the Amex Stadium, but a superb strike by Benteke with virtually the last kick of the game had the Eagles experienced manager jumping for joy on the touchline.
