Aston Villa will reportedly have to shell out the entirety of Danny Drinkwater's wages if they are to sign the midfielder on loan from Chelsea this month.
The Midlands side are desperate to add midfield reinforcements this month following a severe injury to John McGinn at the end of December.
Drinkwater started the 2019-20 season on loan at Burnley but has since returned to Stamford Bridge after failing to nail down a regular spot in Sean Dyche's side.
According to The Sun, Villa must front all of Drinkwater's wages, thought to be around £110,000 a week, in order to sign the player on loan until the end of the season.
The Englishman, who was part of Leicester City's remarkable Premier League triumph, has struggled since completing a move to Chelsea in 2017.
Villa boss Dean Smith is also on the search for emergency reinforcements up front after an injury to new signing Wesley ruled the forward out for the entire season.
