Chelsea skipper Gary Cahill challenges his side to "keep winning" in an attempt to overhaul one of the teams above them after claiming a 1-0 victory away at Swansea City.

Gary Cahill has talked up the battling display produced by Chelsea to claim a 1-0 win over Swansea City, which keeps their top-four hopes alive.

The Blues went into the match at the Liberty Stadium knowing that victory was a must to pile some pressure on the teams directly above them in the table.

A fourth-minute strike from Cesc Fabregas proved to be the only goal, with Chelsea failing to put away their chances and Swansea also coming close late on.

Speaking to BBC Sport after the match, Cahill admitted that his side must keep winning and hope for a favour from other teams in the tight race for a Champions League spot.

"It's a massive three points for us. We've got to try and win every game until the rest of the season," he said. "We knew it was going to be difficult and it proved that way.

"In the second half they gambled and pushed men forward but we saw out a clean sheet. We were looking for the second goal but didn't take our chances.

"It was a great finish by Cesc and maybe their confidence was a bit knocked by that early goal. The teams above us don't slip up and give up many points but let's keep winning and see what they do."

Chelsea have won three consecutive away league games for the first time since September when going five in a row without dropping points.
