Alvaro Morata says that playing under Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been his "destiny".

Alvaro Morata has claimed that fate has brought himself and Antonio Conte together following his big-money move to Chelsea.

The Spain international signed for the Blues last week in a deal that could rise to around £70m.

Morata missed out on the opportunity to play under Conte at Juventus as he joined the Serie A giants in the summer of 2014, shortly after the coach took over the Italian national side.

In his first interview since signing for Chelsea, the striker told the club's official website: "I know Antonio wanted me in the past and I really want to work with Antonio, and finally destiny put us together. I can't wait to play for him and for Chelsea and to win together.

"It was disappointing in 2014 when he went to Italy, but I played well and had a good year at Juventus, but I really want to work with this coach and finally I can.

"I know his work, the staff. I know it is a lot of tactics and I really like this game and I know how to play with this system."

Morata is expected to make his first appearance for the Premier League champions in Tuesday's pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich in Singapore.
