Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink admits that his side lacked sharpness in the final third during their 1-0 defeat to Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink has admitted that his side lacked a cutting edge in the final third during their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Swansea City this afternoon.

The Blues fell to their first defeat in 16 league games at the Liberty Stadium as Hiddink's unbeaten record during his second stint in the Premier League was ended by Gylfi Sigurdsson's first-half strike.

The likes of Matt Miazga, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Kenedy and Bertrand Traore all featured for Chelsea, and Hiddink was at least able to take positives from giving youth a chance to impress.

"Every defeat hurts but everyone knows the situation we are in, so there's a positive side to bringing in youngsters and seeing what they can do," he told BBC Sport.

"We defended poorly and gave Gylfi Sigurdsson a very free chance. We were attacking, attacking, but in the final third we were not sharp enough."

The match was Chelsea's first since it was confirmed that Antonio Conte will take over at the club after Euro 2016.
