Barcelona director Guillermo Amor insists that Philippe Coutinho has "a lot to give" for the Catalan giants.

Barcelona director Guillermo Amor has insisted that Philippe Coutinho has "a lot to give" for the Catalan giants despite struggling for regular football in recent weeks.

Coutinho joined Barcelona from Liverpool in January 2018 and has scored 15 times and registered 10 assists in 45 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish outfit.

The 26-year-old is currently being kept out of the starting XI by Ousmane Dembele, however, with the Frenchman impressing alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in attack.

Amor has thrown his support behind Coutinho though, insisting that the Brazilian is "one of the best in the world".

"Coutinho's a player with a lot of experience, one of the best players in Europe and he is ready to play [for] five minutes or 90 minutes," Amor told Movistar.

"He's a player that thinks more about the team than himself and there are no doubts about him being one of the best players in the world. He's always played well for Barca, he could play [every game] from the off.

"Barca signed him because he's one of the best in the world and he's going to give us a lot. He's got many years left on his contract and a lot to give to Barcelona."

Coutinho has not started a match for Barcelona since the start of December.
