Aston Villa manager Remi Garde insists that he still has full confidence in his own ability, despite his side sitting nine points adrift of safety.

Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has insisted that he still believes in himself despite his side's torrid run of form.

The Villans have won just two of their 18 league games under the Frenchman since his arrival in November, with 10 losses in that time leaving them rooted to the bottom of the table.

A 4-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City this afternoon means that the gap to safety is now nine points, but Villa's current plight has not dented Garde's confidence in his own ability.

"I'm very confident in my management. I have no problem with that. I have problems, but not with my own management," he told reporters.

Villa's next match comes at home to title-chasing Tottenham Hotspur a week on Sunday.
