Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez has reportedly rejected a move to West Ham United in favour of holding out for Arsenal.
The Gunners are understood to have been in contact with Barcelona and Suarez's representatives over a possible deal this month, with the player keen on joining the North London outfit.
However, Barca are reluctant to let the 25-year-old leave on the cheap, despite him making only two La Liga appearances throughout the campaign so far.
The Spanish champions are willing to sanction a loan move until the end of the season, but only if the deal includes an obligation to buy for £20m in the summer.
The stalled negotiations allowed West Ham to attempt to hijack the deal with a £20m offer of their own, but The Mirror reports that Suarez has rejected that approach.
The one-time Spain international is understood to have his heart set on a switch to the Emirates and is willing to wait for the right offer to come along.
Suarez has previous experience of English football having come through the ranks at Manchester City, although he made only two senior appearances for the club across all competitions.
