Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech expects David Ospina to start in Sunday's EFL Cup final against Manchester City.

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has claimed that David Ospina is likely to start in between the sticks for Sunday's EFL Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley.

Ospina has been picked ahead of his teammate in the cup competitions, while Cech remains first choice in the Premier League.

Aside from the Gunners' 2-1 victory over Norwich City when Ospina was injured, the Colombian has started every game on the club's way to the final.

"At the start, it was clear that it was going to be like that," the London Evening Standard quotes Cech as saying. "I will be there with the team supporting but I don't expect to play.

"It is always hard to watch any game from the bench or even from the stand if you are not selected because as a player you always want to be involved.

"But obviously you are in a professional club where there are 25 top players and the manager always makes his choices for the game and you need to accept that."

Ospina has not featured in the top flight once this season, making 10 appearances in cup competitions instead.
