Long-running US reality show The Challenge is to be adapted for the UK for Paramount+, it has been announced.
The new streaming service - from Channel 5 and MTV owner ViacomCBS - is due to launch in the UK in time for the summer, with programming from the US service sitting alongside library content and original UK commissions.
In The Challenge, which has been on air since 1998, some of the most memorable contestants from a wide range of reality shows face off in extreme competitions in an attempt to win a huge cash prize.
The UK spinoff was announced on Tuesday as part of Paramount's investor day alongside local versions in Australia and Argentina, as well as a new show called The Challenge: War of the Worlds featuring the winners from all four countries.
Paramount also confirmed the expansion of the Shore franchise into countries including Australia and Colombia as well as a new show called All Star Shore which will feature housemates from Paramount's global portfolio of reality shows.
The streamer also renewed RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, Queen of the Universe, Geordie Shore: Return of the OGs and The Real World Homecoming.
