Channel 5 announces details of an ambitious new dinosaur documentary series presented by Stephen Fry

Channel 5 has announced a major new documentary series about dinosaurs presented by Stephen Fry.

In the four-part series Dinosaur - with Stephen Fry, the national treasure will take viewers on a chronological journey from the dawn of the dinosaurs to their extinction 165 million years later.

The show will be set in a specially-constructed 'Dinosaur World', which uses the latest CGI techniques to construct a prehistoric environment populated by different species of dinosaur.

"Dinosaurs have always been a passion of mine, so I jumped at the opportunity to lend my excitement and curiosity to immerse audiences back in time 250 million years," said Fry.

"The attention to detail and technology in this series allows us to really delve deep in to some exciting new scientific discoveries about these majestic creatures."

The show will be stripped on Channel 5 over four consecutive nights.
