Olivia Colman has paid tribute to her Heartstopper co-star Kit Connor after he came out as bisexual.
The 18-year-old, who plays Colman's son Nick in the acclaimed Netflix drama, took to social media in October to reveal his sexuality, saying that he felt "forced" into doing so after constant questioning from fans.
Speaking to Variety about Connor's coming out, Colman said: "I am so proud of him, but I am not proud of how people bullied him.
"I think people should be allowed to have their own journey.
"But I'm incredibly proud of him as a young man to deal with all of that and be in the spotlight. It's unfair. But he's amazing. He's a very beautiful human being."
The second season of Heartstopper is currently being filmed for release in 2023.
