HBO has confirmed a second Game of Thrones prequel series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.
The new show will be written and exec produced by GoT overlord George RR Martin, as well as Ira Parker, who recently worked on the first season of the other prequel, House of the Dragon.
Seven Kingdoms is loosely based on Martin's Tales of Dunk and Egg short stories and is set around 90 years before the events of GoT and around 80 years after the first season finale of HotD.
A synopsis reads: "A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros... a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg.
"Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends."
The show will premiere on Max, the new name for HBO's streaming service HBO Max, although the broadcaster has yet to confirm production or likely release dates.
